Float Away_edit

For my edit of my film i tried to have seamless transitions from one scene to another, in my 5th scene i used to combination of a wipe and an invisible cut, an invisible cut is when the scene is supposed to seem to be in one take but the cut is hidden in blackness, for when my leaf flys across the screen bringing in the next scene.

For my bar scene where the balloon exits the bar i used an L-cut, which is an audio cut where the audio carrys over from the previous scene, so for this scene i had the audio of the drunk man singing carry over i just lowered the pitch to the audio so it seemed like the balloon was now outside and the voice was now more suttle, i also used this cut in the 5th scene going into the 6th scene where the wolf is howling, as the camera pans over the bridge shot the howl of the wolf carrys over with the previous scene.

A J-cut is when the audio of the scene starts before you get to it, in my opening scene i had the audio of the bar playing low as the camera panned into the shot then when it cut to the bar scene i had the audio turned up to give the impression the viewers were inside the bar. The idea behind the J-cut is that you hear whats going on before you see whats going on.

I tried to make my transitions in my film as seamless as possible to feel like the film just flows instead of a series of jump cuts where you notice one scene to another.

Sc_10 Comp

Scene 10, final scene, in this scene my balloon rises up through the clouds and eventually pops, for the scene using fractal noise i added a few different layers of fog and clouds to add to the atmosphere above the city, i also added a slight glow to the windows of the buildings to make them stand out through the clouds a little better.

In my cafe scene which was my 9th and second last scene of my film, it was shot inside of a cafe, the look i was going for was a closed cafe so the orginal image i created in photoshop was too bright so to dull it down i added satins to the walls and added 4 different spotlights to added depth to the image, i also added a gaussian blur to the city in the exterior of the cafe to make it feel like the buildings are a decent distance from the camera.

For my 8th scene in my film i wanted my city to really pop, i added glows to the window and a satin the buildings which gave it a more darker feel to the scene, i also added some texture and a gaussian blur to the back block of buildings in the scene to try and add some depth the image.
